Dismissed DUI, reckless driving. Getting my nursing license.

Published

At the time I apply for my license, this incident will have occurred a year and a half/ 2 years ago. I was arrested for dui and reckless driving. There are no blood or breath test results to show that I was impaired. There was a single car accident, just mine which is where the reckless driving came from. The DUI was dismissed and now I only have a reckless driving charge on my driving record that I pleaded nolo to. So, no criminal convictions. I know I will have to disclose this when I apply for my license but how big of an issue should this be? I’ve seen many threads of people who were actually convicted of DUI and still got their license. Any info is appreciated!

I also forgot to mention that the DUI was dismissed without completing a program or any other court ordered things.

If you are asked to list arrests- you must list them. Nolo is still a conviction.

You would do well to consult an attorney who is well versed in nursing boards AND criminal defense. I would do that now if I were you.
