Disclosing traffic citations to CA BRN

A little background: I was cited for "failure to stop at a stop sign" about 4 years ago but got it dismissed in court. According to the FAQ page of the CA BRN website, I don't need to disclose this traffic ticket because I wasn't convicted and the fine is

"Conviction" includes a plea of no contest and any conviction that has been set aside or deferred pursuant to Section 1000 or 1203.4 of the Penal Code, including infractions, misdemeanor, and felonies. It is not necessary to report a conviction for an infraction with a fine of less than $1,000 unless the infraction involved alcohol or controlled substances. However, any convictions in which a plea of no contest was entered and any convictions that were subsequently set aside pursuant or deferred pursuant to Section 1000 or 1203.4 of the Penal Code must be disclosed.

No. You were 'convicted' of an infraction, which doesn't need to be reported. If you had failed to appear in court or not paid the fine, that would be a misdemeanor and you'd have to report it. (I was stupid enough to do both, and yes, I had to admit it to the BON.) You're in the clear, so don't worry about it.
