Disciplined

I am completely distraught. I've been disciplined by the Board for failure to disclose a DUI that happened several years ago. Now my license is flagged. I'm freaked out. I LOVE being a nurse and I cannot imagine doing anything else. Will it ever fall off my license? Is there any way to get it removed? I see my whole life going down the drain now...how do you address the flag with prospective employers?

    First of all, ask the Board how long it stays on your license. Only they can tell you for sure. How old were you when you got that DUI? Any way to chalk it up to youthful stupidity when talking to prospective employers? The farther it is in your past (without any repeat incidents) the easier it should be to eventually get past.

    But don't neglect to disclose it when pertinent. It's always worse when it gets found out later.
