Disappointed with VA Board for their Inconsiderably Rudeness Members

Published

Okay, I'm not exaggerating the situation. I'm not sure if anyone had or have experienced what I had experienced with some people I called who work for the Board. However, I believe there is only one that answers the phone for RN related issues. I believe it's the same person by recognizing the voice. Anyhow this person is the rudeness person I ever came across. She made me feel as if I am wasting her time everytime I called to the point I'm afraid to even pick up the phone and dial the number. Here is what happened, before I even explain to her what was the reason I call today, she would just rudely interrupted and shut me up. Treated me as a child. I am an adult and I don't need this attitude and behavior. No offend Virginians but I'm so over VA. We're military and we just moved here not long ago and we just have it. We just can't wait to get out of here. To honest, VA is the worse state I ever experience in my lifetime in EVERYTHING. I've been to many states. This is the worse so far

Maybe you should post this in the VA forum. WV actually has a diff state gov't and geographical boundaries.

I am sorry but you better learn some patience if you're going into nursing :) You can't just call a whole state stupid because you've dealt with one bad apple :)

Wow. I have never dealt with anyone in person from the BON, but I sure did get my NCLEX results super fast. 24 hours.

AND the application process was super fast. Had my ATT in a week. Virginia has it's faults, but I don't imagine they are any worse than other states. Hope you get what you're looking for in another state.

I have to agree; my experience with the Virginia BON was great. :)

I've never had any trouble with them either. I have lived in 10 different states and I think I would know if they were any worse than most.

I don't think English is the OP's native language. Difficulties in communication may have contributed to her frustration.

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

I've never had a problem with them...if anything, how they treat me far exceeds my expectations. E-mail, telephone, in person: no problem whatsoever.

However, we're only hearing one side of the story and that is the OP's. This is not to slight the OP, but how she perceives the BON treated her may be very different from how the BON actually acted. You can tell three people the exact same thing in the exact same manner and it may be taken in three very different ways...you learn that lesson at your first clinical. Also, how the OP feels she was when talking to the BON and how she actually was when talking to the BON may be two very different things.

OP: sorry you feel you had a bad experience, and best of luck in whatever state you end up in.
