Thanks for all of your responses to all of my previous posts. As you probably assume, I'm evaluating all of my options including ADN, BSN, and Direct-Entry MSN. The direct entry programs look extremely appealing, but seeing that they are at the best of colleges, I don't know how easy they are to get in.
Does anyone know what the typical GPA, scores, acceptance rates of these programs are? Anyone have any experience applying?
I'm in MD, so I'd consider Hopkins, but Columbia, MGHI in Mass, Case Western, Vanderbilt, Pace, and Yale also look appealing.
Seeing as nursing traditionally isn't an "ivy league" profession, are the credentials required for these programs less than what a typical "ivy" student would need?
I'd love to hear experiences with any programs.........
I just called MGH institute to ask when I could expect to hear. and she said end of this week beginning of next week. I didnt specificly ask when they were mailing letters.I have an exam this week and i cant focus.
That's good to know! Thanks for calling! They must be typing those letters reeeallly sloooowly, one finger at a time....

I figured she said late this week or early next week to prevent me from calling back. so it could be sooner. If they go buy alpahabet i will scream as I am a W.
Hmmm...that's a good point. Well then, I still stand by my prediction of Wednesday! If they are an efficient organization, (as they seem to be) and decisions were finalized on Friday, I can't see how it takes more than two business days to print out letters and get them in the mail. But that's just me...
Can you tell I'm impatient!? :chuckle

I wonder how many letters they have to send. Wednesday would be nice but tuesday would be better. :sofahider :sofahider this is us looking for the mailman

OK, so my new pet theory about what's happened to the bc letters:
Maureen (the super-efficient graduate coordinator who ususally returns emails in a matter of minutes) printed off letters for applicants A-C last tuesday, popped them in the mail and then was struck with a horrible flu. She's been out all week and no one else can decipher her system to pick up where she left off. The Graduate Nursing office has ground to a halt!
Do they understand they are making me completely nutso!? :rotfl:

and still NOTHING :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire
I was sure that I would have come home last night to at least ONE letter. Now I'm really getting antsy :angryfire I just do not get it ... if BC has started to mail out letters than I am sure that ALL decisions have been made - they need to get on the ball !!
Jess - You never got a response from Maureen last week?

Nope, nothing from Maureen. And she's usually super-prompt, you know? Either she's on an email-hiatus or I don't know what to think.
I agree- I would think that even if they had sent out one rejection letter that should mean that all decisions have been made. I just can't imagine they would decide the first round of cuts- send out letters- then work on the second round, etc etc. That just seems really inefficient.
Maybe today will be the day!

That's good you called. So it sounds like all you guys for MGH will hear next week. I know it's really hard, but try to concentrate on your exam. After all, they will want to see your final transcripts, which do include your current classes. Do well on your exams! I will keep my fingers crossed for all of you!
