I'm in the same boat. I've been waitlisted for the 2020 and also wondering what are my chances of being accepted from the waitlist. Did you apply to any other schools?

I'm thinking we will hear back late March-early April based on some previous years' posts I've come across. I applied to a couple of direct entry programs on the West coast as well as an ABSN program as a fallback option. I've only heard from Simmons (waitlisted) and UTK so far. What about you?

I hope we got are able to get in Simmons from the waitlist. I got accepted at Regis college. I also got accepted to a ABSN program in another state. I'm hoping we can here something from Simmons. It makes sense that we might hear back late march/early april because I'm sure folks will need to send in the tuition deposit by April.

It’s always good to have options! And I agree, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll get pulled from the Simmons waitlist! I wish they had more info about the number of people on the waitlist / how they choose people from the list. A lot of schools re-review all of the waitlist candidates before choosing one or more of them, but I can’t find anything about it on the Simmons website ?

Ikr. I wish someone could tell us more hoe Simmons waitlist works. The only thing I can think was to call Brian the director and ask him but idk how that may look lol. Maybe one of us can be the brave one and call directly and ask. I do want to mention that based on the previous forums and threads some people do give up their seat so we might have a chance. I wish they let me know the latest by April because I have to put a deposit down by May for another school.

Yeah, good call... Maybe I'll contact one of the admissions advisors instead of Brian so that it comes across as less desperate (hopefully)..?

That sounds good. Keep me updated.

Specializes in Critical Care Registered Nurse.

I am set to begin at a different school in Spring 2021, but I have questions about students' real experience with this program. I am trying to decide if I should go there or here and would really appreciate honest feedback. Thank you.

I will be doing the online program, and so if you have friends in that program whose experiences are different than yours, please do share.

What has been your experience in the program so far?

Do you feel prepared for clinical?

Are there instructional powerpoints or is it mostly them throwing articles at you and saying, "hey, read these and take the test"?

(Is it mostly self taught?) I know that graduate students need to be self-motivated, but Is it mostly self taught with minimal guidance or is it great guidance?

Are the teachers responsive or helpful if you have questions?

Does the program mostly consist of writing papers or mostly exams?
