diluted IM Phenergan?

Has anyone ever heard of diluting Phenergan to give IM? A fellow nurse said he has been doing it to help with the burning. I can't find any info on it at all...of course diluted to give IV, but IM????

i've never thought of it but it does make sense, hum...

99.9% of the time i give it im it is mixed with demerol so it wouldn't work for me. i would think some burn would be better than 2 seperate injections. i always inform the patient that it will burn but i've never had anyone to complain about it after the fact.
