I know that morphine and ativan are the gold standard for end of life symptoms. I also know the morphine works well because of the dual effect on pain and in easing respiratory distress/air hunger. My question is, does Dilaudid work in the same way for both pain and breathing? If not, what else could you use in addition to Dilaudid?
Thanks!

dilaudid is absolutely fine for dyspnea, and obviously for pain.
it is approx 5x as potent as morphine.
again, can't go wrong.
