What are the differences between a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Nurse Midwife? Can you be both? What is different about their job responsibilities?

CNMs can catch babies as well as provide care for neonates for the first 28 days of life. Other than those two areas, the scope of practice is identical. It is certainly possible to do both however there are very few dual programs since the WHNP is entirely redundant. Contrary to popular belief, CNMs not only do childbirth and pregnancy but also manage gynecologic and primary care for women. Additionally, WHNP generally work in outpatient settings although this is not a hard and fast rule.
thank you!
