I was talking to my supervisor about my desire to travel and asker her what exactly our unit was considered (I always say it's general medicine), but she said not to short change myself in that way because it's a Med/Surg/Tele unit as we do put people on the monitor and read the strips ourselves. Most of our patients also have some kind of cardiac issue like CHF, pacemakers, stents, etc as well. But then my question is, what exactly is the difference between a telemetry unit and a Med/Surg telemetry unit? I'm a little confused.
