Difference between CNA at a home care agency or.....

Published

hello, i am currently in a cna course and will be finished next month to sit for the state licensing examination. does anyone know what is the difference between working as a cna for a home health agency vs. just working for individuals that you find off of craigslist or a job posting site???

i hope i don't sound horribly misguided but i just don't understand the differences. i will be starting nursing school in august and want to work prn as a home health aide. what would be the best way to get a job??? any suggestions?

thank you! :loveya:

Working for an agency Clients have been pre-screened and you know what type of environment your are going into. Whereas private duty you don't know also you have to make sure that you don't exceed your scope of practice. Another thing is if the private duty nurse(craigslist) are filing your pay with taxes etc....lines get blurred a bit.
