I've taken all of the Kaplan Trainers. Have done okay, with a score of 59.2 on T7 (instructor said to aim for 60%). However, in final prep, I took the Kaplan Sample tests and got a 58 on the first and a 56 on the second. I'm thinking I should reschedule. Any advice?

For what it's worth, I don't think you should reschedule. Kaplan wants you to be in the 60s because then you're WAY beyond the passing point. But really, you just need to be above passing, which is closer to the 50% mark. When is your exam? Do you have time to review the content you got the lowest score on (based on your summary)?
Also, were the sample tests you're talking about those three "Cumulative Tests" that are on the sidebar of the Qbank page? Because I took those the day before my NCLEX and got a 56 and 60 and FREAKED OUT. I think they're just tough tests. Try the priorities test; they're all high-level priority questions, and I bet you'll do great on it!

When is your test scheduled for? I did the same on the 1st two sample tests, 56%. I took the 3rd one which is the priorities one and amazingly got an 83.3%. Now the most awful one is the 4th one, because it is all alternate format, mainly SATA. I got a WHOPPING 28% on that one. SATA I think are most peoples weakest point. Just keep doing question after question after question and review all of the rationales even for the ones you got right, I really think that helps. I am taking my test mid July, so best of luck to us!!! We can do it!!
thanks, my test was on July 8th, passed with 75 questions!!!!!
Thanks, also to ease your nerves after the exam, use the PV Trick, it works!

Congrats :) Yeah on sample questions 1-2 60 and 62, sample 3 87, but sample test 4 28%. Totally shot down my high today. My QT scores are pretty good 5-63, 6-63. I was going to take QT7 today but I'm going to save it for tomorrow. My test is Tuesday at 2pm. I'm going to review all of sample test 4 both right and wrong to make sure I can answer them correctly if I see similar alternative format questions on NCLEX.

I'm finally able to get on Kaplan again lol, so here are the breakdown of my scores:
NCLEX sample test 1: 52
NCLEX sample test 2: 36
NCLEX sample test 3: 80
NCLEX sample test 4: 20
Question Trainer 1: 57.3
Question Trainer 2: 61.3
Question Trainer 3: 51
Question Trainer 4: 51.3
Question Trainer 5: 62.0
Question Trainer 6: 64.0
Question Trainer 7: 58.9
I re-read the rationales. Then I read my Saunders book (4th edition), Kaplan's The Basics 2013, and I used PDA by La Charity. Kaplan is good, but don't let their expectations doubt your ability to do well on NCLEX. I passed on the first try on Monday with 75 questions.

Thx :) I feel much better now. Did you find that Kaplan was similar to NCLEX? I'm hoping the computer sees I'm safe prior to question 100 though so I will not make silly mistakes from fatigue:blink: Thank you for posting your scores because mine are similar.
I did think the Kaplan questions were similar to the nclex questions, but kind of harder. Nclex was hard, but I think their questions were more "to the point" and straightforward.
Thanks for your help. Its good to no that the questions are straight forward so I feel much more confident. I just rescheduled my test this Saturday at 8am. I'm ready to get it over with and face the NCLEX devil :)
That's great. Honestly, I was freaking out because my scores weren't up to "Kaplan's standards". But you gotta remember, you only have to score about a 50% to be considered "competent". So if you're scoring >50 , i think that is good. I bet you'll do awesome :)
Thx :) I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.
