Did a low test grade discourage you?

Published

I got through my 1st semester of a 2 year ADN program with 88 and above on all my tests. I just took my first nursing test of the new semester and felt pretty good about it only to find out that I got a 76, which is a failing grade in my program.

I'm trying really hard to not get discouraged. Has anyone else been thrown off by something like this?

Specializes in progressive care, cardiac step-down.

My worst two tests in school were cardiac (76) and respiratory (80). I passed boards first try, spent three years working telemetry, passed the Progressive care and cardiac medicine certification exams first try, and now work in ICU. Trust me, it doesn't matter. Get the final grades you need to get out, and get on with it! Good luck!

It seems a lot of students do bad on the first test of the semester, especially if they are dealing with a new professor and new testing methods. Don't be discouraged. Study harder and keep going.

Just took my first fundamentals exam today. I feel as though I may have failed.... I managed to get a lot of questions down to two answers, and then I chose the wrong answer. :( I did 2000 NCLEX style questions (from Elvolve/Elsevier), read the chapters, did the chapter objectives, had a study group, and studied every day. I have no idea how to pass the next one :(
