I didn't "memorize" anything. I studied what my weaknesses were, whether it be assessment, prioritization, safe and effective care, etc.
Are you studying using a NCLEX review like Saunders, Kaplan, NCSBN??? If you are, focus on what you are having struggles with, review the rationales, and focus in those subjects that you are having difficulty with. Use the percentage points from the questions to gauge your readiness in taking the NCLEX.
NCLEX is based on safe clinical decision making, not memorization. I suggest reviewing thoroughly the subjects that challenge you through practicing questions and reviewing rationales from the answers in order to have a greater chance of success. The NCLEX can be challenging, but successful by knowing and choosing the best answer.
Thanks I see what you mean. But sometimes I wonder if I get a select a question thats SATA on the symptoms of a disease and I forget. you know things like that.[/quote']It seemed to me it was less symptoms and more treatment. Symptoms are memorization, you want to aim for critical thinking.
Just study at least one hour a day, and stay familiar with the things you went over. With medications, there are just way too many to memorize everything about them in a short amount of time. Just try to remember the general classifications of medications and the side effects of the classes.
for me the more questions you do the more you start to understand what you need to know. always read the rationale no matter if its right or wrong. a week before the test i just did more than 200 questions a day. in study mode and i wouldnt bother keeping record because sometimes i would get 50s and it just bringed me down. so just do questions and study your weekest points i passed on my fifth time. all the other times i would go all the way til 205 and this time it must of stoped at 85 because i wasnt even on 90 yet. you can do it

Hey I am studying for the Nclex-PN for APril 8th and I wanted to know if the people that have passed the test, like did you feel you memorized everything. Like my problem is when i study and review on a topic I know what Im doing but after wards I have forgotten like 40%. so like meds, what did you memorize, its impossible to know all the meds and their side effects.
