The first time I took it without studying I got a 73. The second time I took it I studied the ATI study book and the McgrawHill study book and got a 72. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. I honestly just feel like giving up on nursing because I feel like such a failure. My next try is most likely my last since most schools I'm applying for only give you a maximum of three tries. Any advice or anybody in a similar situation? :/ I'm so lost.

Don't give up! Keep pushing towards your dreams. Check out the Adkins Academy. They have virtual tutoring classes and all of the teachers hold MD or PhD degrees. I contacted them yesterday because I'm going to take the Teas test April 5 but I decided to study on my own first and see if I can pass it. They charge $1,000 and I can't afford that right now. But if I don't pass it then I will have to invest in my future. Good luck!

What's considered a good score at your school? I was accepted to my program with a lower grade a 70.8!
anything under 85 here in the CA BSN programs is not competitive ):

What did your score break down to? Because you can (and should) get near perfect scores on the math and reading. Hit those hard - there shouldn't be any surprises in those sections. The science is trickier. Extremely random, and you need a shallow depth of knowledge across a very broad spectrum (basically all the sciences). If you do really well with the reading and math it should offset a low science score. Some people are lucky and get science questions they are familiar with, but really, the question bank is so large that you just need to be familiar with a lot of material to ensure a good science score. With the math and reading, you can prepare thoroughly, and as long as you don't panic and blank during the test, you should score well.

Wow! The schools that I am applying to only ask for 66%, I guess I have it easier than I thought. I hope I get at least a 66% of the TEAS V.

Have you finished all your Science prerequisites? If you have not, I suggest you take all Sciences first (A&P I, II and Micro) since knowledge on these areas would greatly improve your Science score. The TEAS has the most questions on the Science part, so even if its really challenging, prior knowledge would hopefully pull up your score. Good luck!

I would suggest using the ATI website and book. It's expensive but if you study the reviews in the book, you should get a better score. Math and English you can improve with practice problems from the book. I crammed for 10 days during winter break to take the test and got decent results but I wouldn't suggest that method. I would've had a meltdown if I didn't pass. Review and practice. Eat and relax before your test.

I didn't study for it. And I got a 74.7% also got accepted into the program I applied to that was requiring me to take the teas prior to application submission.
I know I could've done better had I prepped but. It doesnt seem like the teas score will necessarily make or break you all the time for admission.

Find out the TEAS requirements for each BSN program you wish to apply to. Some BSN programs weigh the test much heavier than other programs. Also make a list of which schools accept multiple attempts (3+), cross off the schools that only limit you to two attempts, then go from there.
Don't get discouraged from nursing if it's your passion. CA BSN programs are very competitive, but if you it's really what you want you will find a way to make it happen. Study, study, study, then study some more, and don't give up!
And worse case scenario, you can apply to ADN programs that have lotteries. They don't require your TEAS score upon applying, and only require you to get a at least a 62 or 72. Then you can find a school that has a RN-BSN bridge.
Hang in there:)
I have taken all of them! I find that each time I've taken the TEAS, the science portion is very random. The first time I took it had a lot of anatomy. The second time I took it had a lot of Chemistry.
