Hi Everyone,
I entered University with a 3.7 GPA and in my last 6 months, I really let myself down. I ended with a 3.46 cumulative GPA. My transcripts also shows a few withdrawals. A few years later I found my passion in midwifery and I went back to school part time - aiming at a WHNP bridge program. I want to work at a Planned Parenthood or similar, helping people receive great, non-judgmental reproductive health care, and I'm interested in expanding into birth.
I'm currently finishing up my prerequisites. My post-bacc work on it's own is at a 3.76, and I'm on track for A's in the last 2 classes. However, due to the amount of hours I already have, GPA calculators are saying I still need 6 quarters of straight A's to even get up to a 3.6! I have over 300 in combined GRE & several years of volunteer experience, but no paid nursing work. In this highly competitive atmosphere, is there even a point in pursuing nursing school? Or is there another path that I'm not seeing?

I dont know what school or program you are trying to get into but a 3.5 GPA isnt bad at all. As long as you have a B or better in your science classes and such I think you are in good shape.
I'm interested in the OHSU Accelerated Bachelors to Masters, and was rejected, unfortunately. I'd love to hear what other programs people are considering and what others have done in my circumstances. :)

You could go the ADN route then apply to Frontier's midwifery program

Are there any classes you could retake for a higher grade. Most school will use the higher grade for ur gpa and that will increase it faster.
