Compare the application processes for each school. Some schools will allow one to apply with one or two prerequisites outstanding. Others state all prereqs must be done to apply. First do all the prereqs that are common to all programs. Apply to as many as you can. Based upon the results of your applications, you can take the extra prereqs as you need to apply to another school. Take classes needed to progress to a BSN program or other classes needed for graduation along with the prereqs, so you aren't wasting time. That's about the best advice I can offer.
I have only applied to one school... I went there for 2 years and made Dean's List every semester, so I know I have a pretty good chance of being readmitted. There are no special applications needed for a Nursing major, so I think I'm set. Who has money to shell out $65-70 to multiple nursing schools? I know I don't, lol. If for some reason they don't take me back, I'll go to CC and bang out some pre-reqs, then reapply to there as well as Rutgers.
I have only applied to one school, it is the school that best fits my completed pre reqs, my schedule and my budget. If by chance I do not get a seat in the fall class I do have another program to apply to that has rolling admissions (and is not yet full). Honestly, as much as I want to enter nursing, I just do not have the $$ right now to shell out for application fees and MORE pre reqs since every school is different.
I also only applied to 1 school. I have taken all but 2 classes of the prereqs there. There are only 2 schools offering night and weekend Nursing program in my area (Minneapolis). NHCC and St. Kates. I can't afford St Kates and have to work fulltime, so NHCC was my only choice.
Good Luck everyone

I've been working on my pre's since '07 and I've always had my school picked out but I'm starting to get discouraged about the waitlist. I'm wondering if I should be considering other schools. I'm fortunate to have plenty of schools to choose from being in Central Florida, but really haven't looked into any of them because I was set on my choice. Is is "standard" to apply to several schools?
