Did anyone take the HESI and TEAS V?

Published

I took the Teas V in 2010 and got an overall score of 82%. I am curious how the HESI is compared to the Teas. The new nursing program I will be applying to requires the HESI. Do you think it is harder or easier? I have to take all sections besides chemistry and physics. What books/sites did you find helpful? I don't have to take it until like a year from now, but I have been studying because I have to score at least a 88 to be competitive enough to get into the nursing program.

the TEAS V is SO much more difficult than the HESI. i didnt have to take the vocbulary, chem, bio, or physics part,. i had to take the critical thinking part though. here is my rating compared for HESI & TEAS V

HESI Math

HESI Grammer

HESI Reading

HESI Anatomy & Physiology = TEAS Anatomy & Physiology....since TEAS has a science with chem, bio, physics, anatomy & physiology, and since i didnt take all those parts on the HESI i can only compare to two A&P sections. find you a good study good that goes beyond the basics for science for the HESI & the TEAS V.....as you already know, the science for TEAS was really random, which made it difficult for me

& if you are taking the critical thinking section, just put yourself into a nurses shoes, and pick the best choice based on guidelines and do's and dont's of a nurse, and patient priority.

Thank you jshanice11. Now I will try to be more relaxed about taking the HESI. I didn't study at all for the TEAS V and did pretty good. Hopefully studying for the HESI will really help out. I am really hoping for a 90+.

I took the TEAS V in may 2012 and made a 78.7% on it which was considered advanced academic standing. I had to take all the sections. My school changed the entrance test right after I took the teas. I took the HESI A2 yesterday and scored a 94% total and I took the math (90%), reading comprehension (98%), grammar (94%), and vocabulary (94%) sections. The hesi a2 is a lot easier than the teas especially if you don't have to take the science section. I studied for the teas for a month and studied for the hesi a2 for a week. Good luck on your test!

hi Shana! I'm planning to transfer to a private school to get my BSN and the school requires student to passed the HESI exam first. I'm just wondering if you used certain reviewers in preparation or could you give me any tips? Thanks and Godbless!
