Did Anyone Apply for Spring 2018 for SUNY Farmingdale?!?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all!

I didn't see anyone here on allnurses that posted about SUNY Farmingdales advanced standing transfer Nursing B.S! I applied at the end of July and so far have received a letter that i passed the first round of admissions! YAY! I thought maybe we could all support one another and say our GPAs and Prerequisite grades for anyone who is interested. I have scheduled my TEAS exam for October 2nd. If anyone is interested in knowing, I decided to go with the TEAS at a PSI center and not at farmingdale so that I will be able to send my scores to other schools if I choose. I am really hoping to get in! Nursing is my dream. :)

I already have completed all the pre req courses required by farmingdale. I am currently a senior at a CUNY school studying Health Science.

Overall GPA: 3.65

Pre Req Course Grades:

1. A and P 1 = B+

2. A and P 2 = A

3. Eng. Comp 1 = A

4. Math (Pre Cal) = B+

5. Psych = A+

6. Three Liberal Arts Courses: (will vary among individuals)

A. Eng comp 2 = A-

B. Music = A

C. History = A

Pre Req GPA: 3.7

Quick questions for anyone who got this info from them:

1. Does this years TEAS exam have a calculator? And are we allowed to use it during the math section?

2. Is this a rolling admissions type thing or do they review applications AFTER the deadline?

Thank you everyone! I hope everyone interested gets in!

I honestly don't know. I didn't consider the DEU because I've heard from other students that Southside isn't the best hospital and I don't wanna hate it and be stuck there for years lol

Does anyone know whom to contact if there's an issue with medical clearence?

And; I personally decided against DEU because commiting to southside would be a hassle for me. I perfer St.Josephs or Plainview because those hospitals are a stone throw away from my home, and those extra 15 min of sleep í ½í²¤!!

I have no idea. I'd call the nursing department honestly. And exactly. I don't even know where Southside is so location matters a lot. The closest hospital to my home is South Nassau. I live in queens so everything is a commute.

I also got chosen for DEU but turned it down, I heard Southside is awful from multiple sources, although I believe Northwell just bought it. I also live in Queens, it's way too far and I really like the idea of jumping around and seeing different hospitals. Btw, does anyone know about this patch thats supposed to go on our sleeve? I ordered my scrubs but didn't see anything on the website for it...

I thought the patch came with the scrubs??? Now I'm confused! And yeah farmingdale alone is a commute enough! What part of queens do you live in? I'm in Rockaway

OASIS still says wait list... doesn't that seem like a long time? I think it's safe to rely on other schools I've applied to...?

I'd call them and ask honestly. And if they don't give u a straight answer maybe talk to other schools you were accepted to. Just call and straight up ask what's the decision and if ur waitlisted how much longer. They just started registering students for classes today. I got my schedule.

Hey Everyone! Congratulations!

I am glad that I just found this thread... I was also accepted into FSC Advanced Standing program for Spring 2018.

I am slightly disappointed after reading some of the comments that emails went out already for the DEU, I thought everyone who wanted to do it would have the opportunity to write an essay. But I suppose that would take a long time to sort through all of the applicants.

I live in Patchogue, so most of the hospitals were kind of far away. Has anyone's schedule been finalized yet? I keep checking OASIS, but pretty sure they are closed until January for the holiday.

Any way, congratulations again :)

I ordered my scrubs also, I think they come embroidered from Flynn O'Hara and that there was a separate pin that says your name and "student nurse" from another website.

I was having the same issue and called the #, they told me you cannot create an email until you are registered for classes.

I was registered for classes but im non DEU

I am not registered either, it's driving me mad lol it's making me a little nervous but I guess we're all in the same boat here.
