Did anyone applied to Mount Saint Mary's University (MSMU) one in LA? for TBSN program

Published

Hi guys, I applied to the MSMU TBSN program one in the LA and I have to take KAPLAN exam this Friday.

Do you guys have any information regarding on the acceptance rate and whether this school is worth it or not?

I did hear that they give you a lot of scholarships, but when I see the NCLEX passing rate, it is pretty low compared to other schools.

So I am thinking should I wait again and apply to different school. I was thinking Loma Linda University.

What other schools did you guys apply?

Hi there!

Good luck on your Kaplan exam on Friday!

With regard to the passing rate... A low nursing program passing grade is not necessarily a bad rate for the school, but could signal a difficulty level of passing the program. The harder it is, one could assume, the more prepared the student is. Now, a low NCLEX-RN passing grade could be indicative of a "too easy" of a program that does not prepare the students well enough to pass the board examination. You want a program that challenges you, so you become the best nurse you can be and are able to pass the NCLEX-RN the first time. However, that is not to say that all good candidates pass the board exam on their first try. Several factors contribute to passing the exam... most commonly anxiety level and preparedness.

You are doing well by researching schools and their scores. I suggest looking into their accreditation status (the best being ACEN Search ACEN Accredited Nursing Programs) and their NCLEX-RN passing rates. Then look into their tuition rates (if that is important to you) and location.

Once enrolled, do your best!

Great to find a thread!!

I just want some cookie hints from your experience with the KAPLAN exam at Mount.

Any advice?

Hope everything went great with your exam!

Hi thanks for your reply.

Yes, i should think more about it when j get to know the result.

Hi, i just took mine today and it was not bad. The most easiest part was the math. I mean it's not really a math. It's just more like calculations. It's very simple. And to prepare for the kaplan. I think for science part is just a basic, physiology stuff. And reading and writing is also basic stuff like just read the questions and answer it.

I got overall 91 percent.
