Elevated BUN and Creatnine

I have a patient with end stage renal failure with elevated BUN and Creatnine. (Of course) My question is can elevated BUN and Creatnine cause seizures, delusions, aggitation? If so do ya all know of any meds that may help with symptoms. Thanks in advance!

Sorry rather sarcastic on my part..I've just seen so many patients just have meds thrown at them without any real investigation of what's really going on.

The other thing though in this case is that the pt is stated to be on hospice care...So comfort measures would be a big thing...It may have been the patients wishes not to have anything further investigated....benzo's may take the edge off his anxiety....however, I do agree with your post...

Presently, we have a hospice patient on hemodialysis. I don't understand that. Guess hemodialysis is considered a comfort measure.

I guess if they were started on dialysis prior to going on hospice it would make sense...but doesn't seem like it would for a new patient needing dialysis...but I guess comfort is different for everyone...
