Keep a very close eye on your blood sugars. I would check at least every three to four hours. Excellent advice for "sick days" here:

I am a type 2 diabetic and just starting into the nursing program. Last night I vomited until there was nothing in my stomach. I drank a regular coke and chicken broth and ice water. Just kept running to the bathroom. i ended up at the ER and all they said was it would be a 13 hour wait so I left. But she said i wasn't suppose to take the sugar. My friends little boy died during flu season as he could not hold down food and his BS went to low. What are you supposed to do during flu season
