DeSales University ABSN 2020-2021

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to make a group for everyone applying for Desales ABSN starting May 2020.

I just scheduled my interview and wondered where everyone else is in the process!

I know you’re able to but whenever i try to click the message box it says error so i have no idea

I'm so conflicted about attending! It would be a 70k loan including living for me. But I got into a program that's a 35k loan, but their absn is brand new (but their 4 yr nursing has a 100% pass rate).

Idk if anyone has a chance, what do you guys think? I really did love the Desales program but it'd be a huge loan.

I totally see where you’re coming from. Desales has been my number 1 choice for a few years and all of my friends that went through their traditional and accelerated programs loved it.

I know Dr. Cyphers mentioned in our interview that the surrounding hospitals nearby offer spots for their accelerated students where they offer loan repayment which I’m really going to try to do.

It’s completely up to you and the amount of money you’re comfortable taking out for a loan and how you felt about the program when you visited!

I am in the same situation with the 70K in loans. I hate that money is making my decision harder. This program is mid range in price from what I have seen. Seton halls program is 86K and Stockton is 38K. I am unsure of what to do also so I am in a bit of a predicament.

Thank you for the advice. I loved the Desales program. Idk if I loved it 35k more though lol And I wouldn't be able to stay in the area after the program unfortunately.

One of the other issues is that for Desales, it says that the fingerprint may take 6 weeks, so that means I would have to order it by Friday to be in by that December date. Is that also how you guys interpreted that?

Is Stockton an established program? My only problem is that the 35k program I was accepted to is only in its 2nd year with the absn (the regular 4yr is doing great though) so there's no guarantee they'll be good.

If Stockton has had great nclex pass rates in the absn for several years, it seems pretty safe and you'll be saving a ton of money.

I was just accepted also! I’m sending in my deposit this week. I’m not from the area so I’m also looking to get an apartment nearby with people in the program.

You should join the Facebook group and post about it so people can message you back! Someone posted about it a few weeks ago.
