Hi! Any recommendations on dermatology resources (i.e. books, websites, PDA programs, etc)? I'm looking for something as a reference. Thank you!

This is what we used:

http://www.amazon.com/Fitzpatricks-Color-Synopsis-Clinical-Dermatology/dp/0071440194/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-0576168-1254566?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1184201484&sr=8-1

I still use it 7 years later. Fortunately Derm doesn't change much. This one is a little better but double the price:

http://www.amazon.com/Clinical-Dermatology-Color-Diagnosis-Therapy/dp/0323013198/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/102-0576168-1254566?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1184201484&sr=8-2

Finally this one is a good resource on the wards:

http://www.amazon.com/Derm-notes-Dermatology-Clinical-Pocket/dp/0803614950/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/102-0576168-1254566?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1184201484&sr=8-3

I used the first one in class and the third one when doing FP. Depends on how happy with your derm skills. I was pretty confident, if I could identify the picture, I knew what to do. Others may have different learning styles.

David Carpenter, PA-C

I have "Sauer's Manual of Skin Diseases" and Black and McKay's "Obstetric and Gynecological Dermatology."

I'm a picture person and the book I found the best was "Skin Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment by Thomas P. Habif - 2005 - Elsevier Mosby ISBN 10-0-323-02753-9. The pictures look very much like the actual diseases - the lab, dx, prognosis section is short and too the point.
