Depressed, frustrated, wanting to Scream

I failed my NCLEX on the first go round. I studied hard and was devastated with the result. I am taking it again on Friday, and I don't know what to do. I keep taking Kaplan practice quizzes and getting worse and worse scores. I don't know what to do. I want to keep studying, but I don't know what to study? Meds? Delegation?

All my nursing friends passed the first time, and they all just pity me for failing. I have no one to talk to, and my parents just tell me to stay positive.

First off, take a deep breath and try to relax (easier said than done, I know). But going into boards with emotions haywire is not going to benefit you. My method on studying for NCLEX was answering questions or doing practice tests (75+ questions) and reviewing the rationales and trying to see why I answered the way I did and try to understand why I could've answered differently. Trying to study by topic didn't help me at all. Don't feel ashamed for failing first time, I work with many great nurses who have failed NCLEX before.

Sorry to hear that. Take a step back and unwind for the rest of the week, Your brain needs to relax! You don't want to risk burnout!

After that, make your arrangements. Schedule your next test date and develop a solid schedule based on your routine. Next...

DO THE UWORLD RN REVIEW. It is a darn good software that has EXCELLENT Qs and even more important, the rationales for each one are deep in detail! It is not an adaptive software (like the NCLEX) but it's the content that matters. Use what you learned with the Kaplan course and apply it in your UWORLD practice quizzes.

Remember: Graduating nursing school is the hardest part. You've done it, you've passed. The NCLEX is just one more tedious obstacle. Keep calm, get organized, and be confident. You've got this!
