I recently applied to DePaul's MENP Direct Entry Nursing Program on the June 15th deadline and have yet to hear anything back. Is there anyone who has been accepted yet?
Thank you for your response. Also to those who got accepted. Congratulations. Do you guys mind sharing your stat? I have 3.6 GPA. I did really well on my prerequisites. I had several volunteer experiences but only 3 months working experience as CNA. I just want to get a sense of how good a chance I have getting in.
Hello All!
I am a career changer looking to apply for DePaul MENP Program for the Fall of 2017. Im looking for any insight in terms of the application process. I have a degree in Science Education. I graduated with a 3.48 so I meet the gpa requirement.
Unfortunately I did not do so well on the prerequisite courses. I'm looking at
three C's and a B+. How ironic considering I teach science! Had a pretty rough start to college but no excuses here!
Are there any applicants that have been accepted with similar grades? How are these viewed/weighed by the college? Does anyone recommend taking the GRE if not needed? Any application advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
To those worried about disorganization and instructors. I went to DePaul. We all thought the same. However, I was a clinical instructor at a similar program in Chicago and I heard the same things from the students there. There are no perfect programs and you'll get out of it what you put into it. My only regret about a direct entry masters program is how expensive it is. Highly recommend looking at a cheaper program.
For what it's worth, we only lost one student (first quarter), and everyone passed NCLEX (some people took 2 tries). Grads from DePaul and another school in Chicago are highly respected at hospitals in the city.
I can't reiterate enough the comments of an earlier poster about the absolute complete disorganization of this program. Avoid at ALL COSTS. I had heard from some others who have been through the program about the disorganization, and unfortunately did not listen. If you have ANY other choices, AVOID. In addition to this, the first glimpse into this is that the admissions personnel are all un-accommodating, and seem to lack any sort of common sense at all. Should have known then.

I applied directly to Depaul with the June 15th deadline. I don't know anything about a August 15th deadline. After, you submit your application, Depaul will send you an email on how to signup for campus connect. Also, there's no interviews for Depaul. They will make their decision based on your gpa, gre, prereqs, LOR, resume...
I got accepted to the spring cohort, but waitlisted for winter. I heard back from Depaul last week (Depaul will send out decisions throughout the whole month of August; that's what they said when I called them!)
Hope that helps. Hope you hear from Depaul.
