Denver School of Nursing's job placement rate, is it accurate?

Published

Hey, question's in the title... DSoN claims a 93% job placement rate for BSNs in 2012. Is this really accurate? I've been told that this job placement rate is for Nursing jobs, not just random employment. http://www.denverschoolofnursing.edu/cig/Denver%20SON%20-%20Placement%20Rate.pdf

I've heard the new grad market is rough in Denver, so I'm thinking that this claim is too good to be true...:sorry:

Also keep in mind DSN has 4 BSN classes graduating each year. More if you include the ADN classes.

This comment isn't statistically-based at all. But, I just graduated from DSN in March. Most of us have passed NCLEX on the first attempt at 75 questions. You can absolutely do well at DSN if you push yourself (professors will push you too). Good luck with what you decide.

Hi Ronald, I just joined this site and can't figure out how to PM, but I found your post and see you are currently attending DSN. I just made a post asking for reviews of the school...when/if you have time, could you please share your experiences thus far? I'd really appreciate it! Here's the link for my post:

For the last 10 years, CU's pass rate has always been above 90%, the lowest being 92%.

Based on that, I would say that CU is the best bet over DSoN and Regis, both for cost as well as pass rates.

On the other hand, DSoN's pass rate is all over the board, ranging from 61% to 94%, but the average appears to be in the 80s.

CU Nursing only admits people with a 3.0+ cumulative average GPA.

Thank you for your feedback. I have a couple of questions for you: did you find any work post graduating and passing the NCLEX? Did you experience a high turnover rate among the professors at DSN? Lastly, do you feel that you received adequate help/support when you needed it?
