Denver College of Nursing October 2020 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Is there anyone else on this website who has applied for the October 2020 Denver College of Nursing accelerated program? If so, comment below! Would love to start forming a community of applicants. I sent my application off last month, hoping Corona will not delay admission decisions!

Hi Dylan!

I got waitlisted, but at the time of my application, I had been working as a CNA at a Senior Living facility For a few months. I had one course in progress (A&P 2) and my GPA is around a 3.3 in the prerequisites I have taken. I focused on my essay heavily and talked about my work experience and personal experiences that led me to want to pursue nursing. Hope this helps!

I was waitlisted for the July cohort but accepted into the October cohort yesterday. CONGRATS everyone! Anyone want to make a facebook page for our class?

Emily! That is so great to hear. I was initially really sad but as I read more people post about the outcome with being waitlisted and talked to friends who are now in the medical field and said they themselves had been waitlisted then accepted. Thanks for this post!

Would there be anyone who was accepted/waitlisted willing to share their previous work experiences in the medical field/schooling? Still no email and I have a feeling that may be a sign with most people getting their emails already.

I was waitlisted. I majored in biomedical science for undergrad. I was missing some classes + Some of my pre reqs had expired so I retook them, currently re taking A&P 1 and will be re taking A&P 2 Summer one. I have no idea what my GPA is since I have my undergrad GPA plus the classes I recently have taken / re taken. I will say they are all A's and B's. I am out of state located in Houston Texas. Medical experience has been volunteering as a medical interpreter for 7 plus years and some work as a medical scribe. I have also had a lot of shadowing and mentorship from Osteopathic physicians and involvement with the Osteopathic community. That has been my volunteer work, my full time job has been teaching yoga pretty much since completing undergrad.

I got in! So excited to hear about everyone else! I was waitlisted for the July start and accepted for October. I think a facebook group would be awesome. I’m hoping we can be in class by October but if not I can’t wait to meet you all!!

When do those accepted have to confirm by??

We have set up the interview no later than May 15

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! Is anyone willing to share their personal statement? If that is too personal, would anyone be willing to talk about their main points? I know that is a key factor that is considered and I am applying for the Jan 2021 start.

Thanks in advance!
