Denton Regional Medical Center

Specializes in Labor and Delivery, Surgical/ Ortho.

Even though I have been a medical assistant for ten years, I graduated in December with my nursing degree and now feel empowered to make a difference. I have accepted an RN position at Denton Regional Medical Center on the Surgical/ Ortho floor. Anyone work there or know about the hospital? I know that they are hiring six of us and I would like to possibly get in contact with some of my future coworkers. :monkeydance:

Congratulations on your new job. Could you tell me what is the pay for a new RN? Shift differentials for nights/weekends? What kind of schedule did you get? 401K details? Vacation/sick time? Health benefits? Thanks.

I'll be working 12 hour shifts at night. Pay starts out at 22.85 per hour. Eves $3.00 Nights $7.00. Weekends like $4.00 and $8.00. (all apx.) I think there are three weeks vacation and not sure about the 401K and health benifits but they are offered.

I haven't worked there, but my charge nurse did for 1 month. She said she was promised maximum 5-6 patients. But as the days went on she started getting 10-11 patients assigned to herself. After that she quit.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what floor she was on? When she was there?
