Denied undergrad admission with a 3.64 at USFfor BSN program

U.S.A. Florida

Did anybody else get denied undergrad admission to the university of South Florida with a 3.64 GPA? Im so confuse, I know in order to get admitted into the University itself you need to have a 3.0GPA, but i got denied because supposedly my GPA requirement didnt meet the criteria for the nursing major. This is only to be accepted into the school itself. I've read other threads where people with a cumulative GPA of 3.59 got accepted into the school and then got referred into the nursing program. My pre-req GPA is a 3.7, Im so confuse ughhh. I need some advice.

It is more than just GPA that they look at. I got in with a 3.5 but honestly most of my former classmates were 3.8 and up. So sorry to hear about you being denied. I have been denied three times to different schools but look at me now!

i know when i was looking to apply, you had to have a transfer gpa of a 3.65 to even be considered. maybe that's what it is even though it's .01 off??

It only gets harder to get into R.N. school with each new year. I'd apply to several different schools. You may need additional classes as every schools requirements are different. Many schools are also looking at Teas or Hesi scores and whether or not you have a CNA license. I wouldn't give up. I'd consider private colleges also. Be warned that some are charging 40 or 50 thousand dollars though.

Aww well thank you guys! And I know it only gets harder but I won't lose my faith, I'll keep trying. I might just try a private college I don't want to wait another year to apply again. I guess I'll just get my RN and then bridge to The BSN program. It should be easier to get into a university then.
