my er is a busy er in the middle of no where in ky. We get lots of patient coming in with complaints of pain. We have our docs and arnps prescribing Demerol 25,50,75,100 mg IVP all the time for complaints of pain. rarely do we use morphine or dilaudid. we do not carry toradol. any advice on how to deter the providers from prescribing demerol. Or who to talk to about getting toradol?

Tramidol is pretty useless and in my pt population not the safest. My TBI patients are susceptible to seizures any way.
