I just had my personal record today. Three NSVDs. Ugh, I'm tired. Luckily they were all multips who pushed for less than 10 minutes. I had 1 at 9:30, 1 at 1:30, 1 at 5:30. Every 4 hours, like clockwork!

Working in the newborn admission nursery today...we had 14 delivered babies; 12 of them came between 0700 and 1300. It was myself and one other nurse. I'm not sure if it was a record, but it sure felt like one this morning! I'm blaming the Superbowl...

During the blizzard babies nightmare we dealt with over here in the east coast, we once did 20 deliveries in 12 hours sometime in the end of October 2010. I had the pleasure of doing 6.

I've done 4 labor patients in one 12 hour shift but that was not the busiest ... the busiest was when I did 18!! triage patients in one 12 hour shift. Earned my "triage queen" crown that shift. Where I was working at the time had a 4 bed triage unit so as you can imagine it was pretty much full all the time that shift.
