Hi everyone I have a few questions that some of you may be able to answer. I work full time as an env. sci. and I plan on doing a career switch to nursing. I have a bachelors in biology already. The only non nursing courses I need are AnP2, and I plan on taking it in the fall. So each semester of nursing school will be 10 credit hours only (if I get in). Does anyone know of people who worked full time while attending DCC nursing school?
That was a long statement for a single question haha. I also wanted to know about this section of the profile sheet:
"Completed both A&Ps and English 101 and 3 credit hours of Math Ex (120, 130, 241)"
Does this mean A&P I with lab, or AnP I and AnP2? Also if I'm taking AnP 2 during the fall, but applying for the spring, will they count that to my profile score...I assume not. Thanks for the info.

People work, but it's pretty difficult. What are you work schedules like? I wouldn't judge nursing school by the number of credit hours that are assigned to it. It's a lot more work outside of class as well. It's not impossible, but I didn't know anyone that works fulltime, only part time and they are stressed a lot.
You can take A&PII in the fall and still apply but you won't get credit for it on your profile score. However, you will get points for your previous degree.
I work from 8-430 with an hour lunch, but it's very relaxed. I can spend hours in the office studying or in the field studying. I can also go in early, like for 6 and get off at 230. Do you know how many hours a week we work in the hospital? I thought it was 12, but I don't remember why; also if it is 12 can we do it on the weekend? Thanks!
Class is two days a week, and clinical is two days a week (6 hours or 1 twelve hour day). Weekend clinicals are available but they are very rare. We get to pick our sections, but it it's a free for all online registration that starts at a certain time on a certain day so everyone tries to get their picks but it doesn't always happen. Class is anywhere from 3-6hrs a day depending on the level you are in. But it's two days a week.

If you have to work everyday M-F then Charity's program won't work for you, just being honest. Working full/part time will be hard but it's doable, however you must have a job that will work with your schedule. I work full time, but I only work 3 days a week at a hospital from 7pm to 7am and I usually work on weekends to avoid scheduling issues with class. And you may get a clinical that is 12 hrs once a week, but you wouldn't start that clinical until about 2 months into the program. The first couple weeks you're at charity, then the next month you're at a nursing home...and then after that you'll finally start your 12 hr clinical. To give you an idea of what the sched will be like I'll give you my sched set up:
Pharm 830-1030 on Thursday.
Nursing I Aug 18-Aug 30 730-130 on Tues
Nursing I Sep 9-Sep 30 730-130on Wed
Nursing I Oct 6-Nov 24 (end of semester) 7-7pm on Tues
Nursing I Lecture days (the entire semester) 1030-1230pm Thursday and Fridays
It's kind of confusing at first, but basically I have either class or clinical everyday except for Monday. And then just think about the study time outside of class..A typical M-F 9-5 type of job just probably isn't likely to work. I'm not trying to discourage you, I just know that I would want to know specific details on how a program runs before I started. If your job could be flexible around your school hours, then this could work, but it's definitely something to discuss with them.
And to give you an idea if you'll get in or not, for the fall 2015 people got in with 65 for a profile score..So I'd imagine if you have this or higher, you have a very good chance on getting in.
And there do have weekend clinical sometimes, but not every semester. They didn't have any weekend clinical options for level 1 for the upcoming fall. And like someone mentioned above, you don't always get the choice you want. It's seriously like hunger games during the registration time lol
