Delegation by an RN to LPN, CNA, UAP..how?

Hi everyone!:yeah:

I will be taking my NCLEX-Rn in 2 mos time. And Im in a state of confusion on how to properly delegate tasks/assignment from an RN to an LPN,CNA and UAP.. What tasks are done ONLY by an RN that can't be delegated?:uhoh3: What can be delegated exclusively to an LPN..or to a CNA,UAP?:uhoh3: Thanks guys!!!:up:

Suggest you get this book: Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for Medical-Surgical Nursing by Linda LaCharity, Candice Kumagai, and Barbara Bartz, ISBN 9780323044073 Covers this subject well.

I would also suggest you get a book to help you review this area. But in general, anything that requires an assessment or independent nursing judgement cannot be delegated.
