Degree In Health Management Cause ASN program wait is 2 years.

Nurses General Nursing

I am considering getting a degree in Health Care Management. I have looked into Nursing Programs in My City, St.Louis Missouri and the wait at any of the affordable reputable schools are like two years and I can have a Bachelors Degree and then enter a accelerated Nursing Program which have no wait list. I want to eventually become a DNP or NP but I cannot wait years for a simple ASN and the BSN programs are so full too., I am currently a Tech and the Hospital I work for says there is such a Over flow of Nurses in this City noone is hiring. Even where I work were on a hiring freeze even if you work there already were not hiring NURSES! I would like to run a clinical floor or be in the management position where I work some day. Does this sound like a good idea. Otherwise I am just sitting waiting, for a ASN. I was told at the community college that It would be like a 3 1/2 year process. I am 33 with two kids I can't wait that long for a ASN. Please some advice on what to do. I also want to point out I took this Tech Position only to tie me over in Nursing school, but I cannot stand how the Techs are treated. I want to get the ball rolling.

I think that is a great idea. I am currently an ASN graduate and I'm thinking about getting a BSN in Healthcare Management. It would sure give you a good background when you do start, not to mention the recesson might

be over or near over. Good Luck!!:yeah:
