I was told I will be tested on cardiac math at some point this term. I had cardiac in med/surg last quarter. Everybody acted like it would be hard. I'm not sure I totally understand what is meant, and I felt pretty stupid asking the prof. So are we just talking about mcg's of Dig or what here? Any insight? We were taught NO math during our cardiac section, so I'm not sure what exactly we're looking at...
I've never missed a question on a math test, so I'm hoping that means I already know what they are talking about, and I just termed it differently or something.

i was a cv specialist for a loooong time and i have never heard this term. unless "they" are talking about things like calculating peripheral vascular resistance or mean arterial pressures and the like, i have no clue. why can't you ask "them" to be more specific?
yeah, i should ask. they just aren't super receptive to things like this - i would end up feeling really stupid - i learned to shut up and use back roads to get what i need a long time ago. if they are trying to produce resourceful nurses, they are doing a heck of a good job.

maybe figuring CO, SV, HR, PAP, PAWP etc. ? There are simple formulas for this, just have to memorize them
Yeah, good point. I guess I better also relearn how to read a strip. Sadly that is gone from my mind. Normal shape? Sure. Why is it normal? No idea.
