Deep East Texas

Published

]Does anyone live in the Deep East Texas Area? This area consists of Jasper, Hemphill, Newton, Burkeville, Toledo Bend Lake and many other little towns? Just curious because I would like to know if you could give me ideas on places to apply for nursing jobs in this area. Moved here approx. 1 year ago and I have been in nursing school since and I'm not familiar with all areas here.

Specializes in CDI Supervisor; Formerly NICU.

Beaumont/Orange is probably the closest "large" city to you. Livingston isn't too far, but it's a fairly small rural town. You're kinda in the middle of Podunk USA. Maybe look into how far it is to drive to Lufkin?

If you're interested in getting a license in Louisiana, you're not too too far from Fort Polk.

Yeah, your right! I'm out in the middle of no where! LOL!!!! I recently graduated from Angelina College from the LVN Program. I'm scheduled to take the NCLEX next week! Very Nervous not to mention very stressed!:scrm: I want to go for my RN License, but no matter where I go I will have to drive 2 hours or more one way! I did some checking on the LA license and found out that I have to be working with my license for 6 months before I am able to apply for a LA license. Thanks for your info.:tku:

I live in east texas too, probably Bmt/pt.art/orange would be your best bet. Lots of us carpool.I was offered a job as a new LVN grad at Christus in Jasper a few years ago, but took one in bmt instead. Hope this helps...have you looked into Excelsior for your RN, check out the distance learning forum. I am scheduled to take the clinical on Feb 6. Good luck on NCLEX:)
