Deciding on a new RN job

U.S.A. Ohio

I was offered 2 jobs. A telemetry/urology floor night shift at the Cleveland Clinic. They will pay me 25.73/hr. I also have an offer on an infectious disease floor at UH. It is nights/days and they will pay 27/hr or at night 28/hr. I think both have their challenges. The infectious disease floor has a patient load up to 7 at night, the clinic pt. max is 5 pts. I heard UH treats their nurses better and I may have a longer orientation. I need advice!

I work as an aide at UH. UH does treat nurses a little better (it's a nursing hospital so they are more involved with their care, so I am told). Also UH will pay the full amount right out of the gate during orientation while at the clinic you only get 75% pay while in orientation (which is around $18 something an hour). The only drawback to UH in my opinion is that the benefits at the clinic are a lot better, however I have spoken with several people who have experience with the clinic and all have told me they have a high turnover rate. My guess is people go there, put in their one year and then move on.

Tower 8 from what I remember has a high turnover rate because it is infectious disease. Im actually not sure what to do when it comes time for me to graduate this coming May. I really like the floor I work on now but I also really like Metro.

Okay, Thanks for the info :)

How did it go?

I would work at UH over CC but working in ID sucks. It takes a long time to properly put on PPE and clean equipment. And you always feel exposed to everything despite following proper protocol.
