Hi, I applied and got 2 offers from 2 different hospitals that are in the same hospital system. One is in a tele floor at their main hospital (600 beds) while the other is in an icu at their sister hospital (400 beds). The main hospital is 1.5 hrs away from me with traffic. The campus is gorgeous and I have long dreamt about working there. The sister hospital is 13 mins away from me with no traffic. I am so grateful for the offers and have long desired to work for any of these hospitals. I just need help in deciding which direction to go! I am currently working in tele by the way. Thank you for your input!

To be honest - commuting would be a pain with 1.5 h each way - I have done that and it is not good. Think about the time and money you will spend on commuting. Plus what if you have to work nights - driving home after a night for 1.5 h is a nightmare.
In addition, ICU is a great opportunity.
You can always get back to med/surg if you hate ICU but you won't necessarily get another shot at ICU....

Take the one that's closer to you. I commute an hour to both jobs and it is a pain!

I would take the closer one. If anything you can transfer to the main hospital at a later date. Just get your foot in the door and you can move around.

I wouldn't take a job with a 3 hour commute unless I was desperate or wanting to relocate, doesn't sound like either apply in your case.
Think of what you can do with the additional 2 1/2 hours you will save each shift.
Thanks for all of your input! I accepted ICU and will let the other hospital know. Either way I am so excited to start! :)
