I am also going to ATC I am personally going to nights since I also hae a 2 year old and a 3 year old. Susan said if you miss a dy especially at clinicals you are basically screwed as far as making it up. My boyfriend will be picking up my kids after daycare and be taking care of them until they go to bed. For me its easier to go at night especially since if they get sick he can't take off work to take care of them so i will be there, and you get more one on one time withthe doctors and have a better chamce of getting a job when you graduate. I hope this helps some. Let us know what you decide.
Thanks for your input. My husband was saying maybe nights would be better for that same reason if my daughter gets sick I could be home with her for the majority of the day until my husband could get home. I think I am going to lean more to that. My only issue is that I am more of a morning person so I would have to adjust. Plus I live in Palm Beach so I wouldnt get home until 11. I do like the fact you have fridays off though. I am taking my TEAS next week so I would probably have to decide by then. Are you starting in January?
No, I am actually hoping to start in October. My folder is done just waiting on my background check to come back and a copy of my GED. It takes forever to get these things. They said the backgrounds usually come back in 2-3 days but of course mine didn't. Good luck on your TEAS though, I thought I was going to go crazy waiting for mine. Did you have orientation on Sept 2? I did and I remeber they told us that the 6 was the next opening for the TEAS but it actually wasn't. Not being nosy just trying to see if anyone besides me actually went to registration and asked if there were any openings for the Sept 29 test. Good Luck if you have any questions on specific subjects you have a problem with let me know.
No my orientation was Sept 15 and I was told Oct 6 was the first opening for TEAS which was fine for me. I am really praying that I pass all sections the first time. I have my file complete I just have to pass the TEAS. I did the online ATI assement practice and I scored high on everything but science. I got a 33% so I really need help on the science. I am having trouble with physics never took it and pretty much everything else in science. If you could give me any tips that would be great. I appreciate your help.
As far as my science went it was pretty simple stuff and i'm HORRIBLE at this stuff. They had 2 questions on the periodic table (ie: which of these two combos would make an ionic bond and one about iron), I had 2-3 on tectonic and other plates, 2 on anatomy (ie: gall is to esophagous as ______ is to thorax) but those were the hard ones. Everything else was pretty easy. Don't strss over it. When is your test? I have some papers that helped me as far as the environmental science went. I actually have some for all of them, just let me know and if it's not too late maybe we could meet up and i will give them to you. I am up at the school all the time since my fiancee works there and i will be starting there soon. Just let me know. But as far as advice goes the best I can give is: DON'T OVERSTRESS!!!! I studied for like a month and a half before my test then about 2-3 weeks before the actual day I stopped. I decided that if I didn't know it by then I wasn't gonna learn it by cramming and I did great on mine. All in the upper 90's except one which was a 91. Good Luck!!! Hope this helps some!!!
Thank you so much for the info! Unfortunately it is too late for me to meet up with you my test is tomorrow. I will definitely keep you posted on how I do. I am so nervous but whatever happens I will be ok with it. I love the fact your so positive I wish I could be more like that. Thanks again:D
Hello Amayabrianna,
I didn't pass the TEAS science section. I did extremely well in all of the other areas but bombed the science. So I was not suprised. I know you said that you had some stuff that could help me. I would be willing to meet you whenever it is convenient for you. My problem is definitely physics. I am excited you are registered and got in.
Thanks again,

I am looking to start the LPN Program in January but I dont know if I should go days or evenings. I have a 2 year old who goes to daycare during the day and in the evening my husband picks her up. I think I am more of a morning person but after going to orientation I am a little intrigued about evenings. The schedule is days; 7:00-1:45 M-F or Evenings 2:00 to 10:15 M-TH you get Fridays off. I would like to work a small part time job maybe 15-20 hours per week but that is not my main concern school is. At orientation the Director mentioned that in her opinion evenings are better because the hospital is not so hectic and you learn more. The last term of the program the evenings will go to day time schedule just to feel how it is work a day time shift. Any feedback would be great from anyone that has been through this process or know someone that has. Thanks
