Hi all, I received my first US Army letter with the title Dear Captain...., I was very excited after having a not so good day today. Anyway my question is how long does it typically take to recieve information about the security clearance investigation then to get orders at this point. Any help/ anyone that can sure thier own timeline would really be appreciated.

Hooah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yelclap:
Can't give you an estimated time -- but my middle son submitted the paperwork for his TS clearance months before he left for Iraq (3rd tour) -- is about 6 months into his tour -- and is still waiting
I hope you made copies of everything you submitted. You will have to resubmit every so many years and it is easier if you have all those addresses on hand lolololol

Everything is online now......so it saves your data. But I would still make a hard copy.
Hi all, I just wanted to move this up again. If anyone has been through this long process recently please share any information on what to expect from here and how long. Thanking you in advance!
When did you put your security clearance paperwork in? I understand it takes anywhere from 4-18 months. (6 maybe being the "average").....I am waiting for one too. I submitted my paperwork and fingerprints a month ago..
It all depends on how much they have search out! I am old, so there is plenty to "dig into"....:)

Im not sure, I guess the packet went in when my packet went to boards or after I commisioned? I have not done any finger printing either. I was hoping that someone who finished OBLC or is there now can tell me what to expect, on the active duty side. My recruiter said I should get orders in 2-3 months after I commisioned on June 23, if that is so when should I hear from the investigator or get finger printed? Any information is appreciated.
Yeah,
I don't know. I am a direct accession, but different because of the CRNA program.....so my orders were immediate, and last minute (boarded, waited for 368....lost, then found, then orders cut by branch the next day......MAJ R.)
good luck,
ps. I would definitely ask your recruiter about the "fingerprinting".......they neglected to inform me that this was necessary last year (for my 1st attempt at a security clearance).......and no-one notified me that I need to correct it, until I was in class in FSH Active duty this year!

My son called from Iraq last week. During the conversation I asked him how it was going with his TS clearance. Apparently there was a computer glitch and a bunch of TS clearances dropped into a black hole So now he has to start from scratch.
