Deaf

I had an interesting experience. Three weeks ago I woke up completely deaf in my right ear. Sensorineural idiopathic hearing loss. Have gone through prednisone, and how having steroid injections. I maybe have the slightest buzzing however its not much.

I'm so bloody tired from it. So many people stand on my deaf side. I was in a course the other day and kept wanting to tell the presenters ''speak up'

I think I could cope with this better if I didn't have the constant tinnitus. It's like my brain has decided since my right ear had no auditory input going in, 'here, hold my beer' and gives me the constant tinnitus.

On the postive side, at least the vertigo has subsided.

So, has anyone had idiopathic hearing loss. And how did you deal

I have profound hearing loss in my left ear and mild to moderate hearing loss in my right ear. I wear hearing aids in my left ear 100% of the time and only occasionally in my right ear. For myself in my job (nephrology APRN) I use an EKO core stethoscope that I wirelessly connect to my Apple airpods 2. I only use the right earpod. I can hear very well with this arrangement - for both heart and lung sounds
