DCCC question

You would have to go thru admissions at the Main Campus. I have not heard of anyone transferring in except 2nd year and they are usually LPN's. Hope this helps.

While I dont have an answer to your question, I can only recommend that you call DCCC admissions office for advice. I am currently on there (DCCC-Chester County) wait list for the fall 07 nursing program.

However, I was accepted into Brandywine's Nursing Program and expect to start in Aug 07..... After reading ur post, i am a wee bit nervous.......and would love to chat w/ you. I am assuming that you don't like the program there!?!?!?! Any input would be helpful.

Hi....I just accepted into DCCC and waiting to hear what credits they will accept from my previous college BUT..... I'm beginning to study for the NET test.

Any feedback about the NET test please?

Were you accepted into there nursing program? I was told you have to have better than a 70 on the english part and 50 on math. How were you accepted without taking the NET?

The NET scores DCCC will accept are as follows: Math 60%, Reading Comp 70 % and Composite Percent: 65%. What help me pass the NET was the NET Study Guide by Educational Resources......

I'm assuming (I apologize if I'm wrong), I start DCCC nursing in fall 2007 -- I know when applying for DCCC's nursing program, I first had to just apply to the school (this did not guarantee acceptance into the nursing program)-- basically just filled out a form, and found out I was accepted. Then I had to take the NET and apply specifically to the nursing program. I didn't have any classes to take prior to nursing (except for anatomy and physiology), because I already have a BA from Widener, but I know some people take their non nursing classes prior to getting accepted into the nursing program. You cannot get into the nursing program without the NET--- so maybe DebbieN is accepted into the college, but in the process of applying into the nursing program (I know last year you couldn't apply until -- I think it was August 9th, and had between then and I think October 30th to get application in-- I think those were the dates). I don't know how easy transferring is-- I know there is a wait list to get in for Fall 2007. Call admissions and find out! Good Luck!!

Debbie--- as far as feedback on the net, I have to second getting the study guide. I practiced practiced practiced all of the math for weeks--- that little book was priceless!

WestWingFan..I'm currently a 3rd year Temple Student..my GPA is really low and my advisor said its no longer possible for me to get in the Temple Nursing Program. So I'm planning on to get in the 2010 fall DCCC nursing program. Couldn't get in 2009 fall program they said it was too late. I'll be transferring some of my credits towards DCCC. Since you already went through this process I would really appreciate if you could help me out.

Do I apply to DCCC before hand?

Is there a placement test if I get Accepted in DCCC?

How do I prepare for NET? any specific programs or website?

What's the Minimum score in NET to get accepted?

How is the program once you get in?

Go to an information session-- they'll give you all of the info.

Yes, you do actually apply to DCCC beforehand. Then (for fall 2010) you'll apply between August and October (they'll give you exact dates) for nursing program. There is a placement test. I didn't have to take it because I had already taken my math courses and English courses (I had a BA and 21 graduate credits from Villanova). You need to take the NET Test. I remember taking it in beginning of August before leaving for vacation. There's a book at ERI World that you can order to prepare. I'd do that as soon as possible, because I remember that you had to take the test by the end of September at the latest (can take it 3 times). It's not the minimum that's the issue. Many people pass the test, but still aren't accepted. They take the students with the top scores. So, it's like the top 30 for night program and top 90 for day program (I remember being told there were a few hundred applicants)-- so the minimum really isn't the issue you have to be have one of the top scores. This was how it was 3 years ago--- I'd definitely get to an information session very soon. Or call the school of allied health. Good Luck!

The program was good (I'll tell you how good after I take NCLEX in two weeks LOL). Very hard program-- I think many believe since its a community college it will be easier than a 4 year program, and that isn't the case (most of my clinical instructors also taught at 4 year universities, and they praised our program).
