In Colorado the public health departments have needle exchange programs that you can volunteer for. Check your local health department for listings. Might be a good place to start, network, etc.

I was just about to suggest that, as one of the Colorado public health department nurses who helps staff the syringe exchange at work. :)

Thanks folks. I volunteer at a needle exchange where I live now. My partner's job is relocating us to the DC/ Baltimore area so no Colorado for us. Thanks for the NASEN listing. I'll start there. Do either of you follow any of the Canadian nurse-lead needle exchanges/ shooting galleries? I have heard that there may be a pilot project in DC that is similar. That would be a dream job for me.

I do not follow that project, but sounds fascinating! Wasn't suggesting relocating to Colorado, only that public health departments are good places to start with figuring out what services are offered. Keep us posted on what you find, sounds like a dream job indeed!
