Darton College pre-requisites

What classes are used to calculate GPA for Darton's nursing program entrance?

If you go on nursing under their site, click on program requirments and traditional track, and the listing is there. If it's not under program requirements then click on one of the other links. Have you taken your hesi yet if so what was your score?

Yes, I took it On the 2nd and I had a composite score of 81%. Have you taken it yet? What was your score? I asked about the pre-reqs because some say they were accepted without completing all pre-reqs.

Yes i took it and failed miserably got 74.44%. You don't have to have all of your pre-reqs the site tells you that. And in another thread I saw that even if you don't have the mnimum required classes they make exceptions sometime.

Since so many applied, they may give prefernce to those that have completed all pre-reqs. Which program did you apply to? Do you live in Albany?

I applied to the hybrid program. I moved to Albany a month ago. What about you? How many pre-reqs have you completed? I've completed all except P.E. and micro. The procter said about 300 applied and only 200 will be getting in. I'm pretty much planning to reapply for summer.

I've lived in Albany all of my life. I've completed all pre-reqs because I already have a bachelors degree in Biology. If we both get in, we could probably form a study group. I'm pretty sure you will get in. I read in a post someone was accepted with a 3.0 gpa and a 72 HESI.

Yes that sounds great we can both be each others support. well my gpa is 3.33 so that makes me feel a little better. How can you stand it here it's so very slow. I have no idea why I chose to come here. By the way this waiting game for the acceptance/denial letters is killing me

It really is slow here! Where are you from? I really want to move to the Atlanta area after graduation, but I here the job market is tough there.

I'm from Savannah, not that but faster but it's better than here. I also head Atlanta job market is bad. I want to move to Houston when I'm done with school. If I dont get in by the summer semester I plan to move to Houston and go to school. Are nurses in high demand at the hospitals here in Albany?

I can't really say nursing is in high demand here, but most student's secure jobs before graduation. I have a class mate that is an RN in Savannah, GA. How did you end up in Albany, GA, and how is the job market in Houston?

Well I wanted to leave Savannah but, I didn't want to deal with out of state fees at the time. I could've went to Atlanta I don't like it up there. I was looking into Albany State but a friend of mine was telling me how great Darton program was and in her opinion it was better than ASU. Before I made my decision I looked at program options and the courses required versus the courses I had taken at Savannah Tech. Albany State nclex pass rate for there students were kind of questionable, but Dartons was like no less than 87% passed. I also like the flexibility of the program so I won't have to worry about what I'm going to do with my son everyday. Why did you choose Darton?
