I'm a new Nursing student and have read the constant positive reviews about this clog, however I am specifically looking for plus-size medical professionals who have tried this shoe and whether or not you like it. I want to make a good investment, but I'm seeking advice before spending a lot of money; please help! :icon_roll

Not necessarily plus size, but have wide feet. Danskos tend to be a little narrow for me. I love mine, but have worked hard at getting them broke in. At first I'd just wear them a couple of hours at a time.

I also have wide feet and sensitive heels. I didn't like the Dansko because they were very stiff and the heels were hard and too high for me. I love my Quarks! they are soft but supportive and don't bother my little toes or heels. Be sure to try on many different brands and styles. Oh..also, when you try on, wear the socks or hose that you'll be wearing every day. Good Luck!

I prefer birkenstocks myself. Dansko's don't fit my wide feet very well. The prices are comparible as well. Good luck in school.

I don't know how "plus size" you mean, but I wear these, and I think they are awesome. I have wide feet with heel spurs on both feet, plantar fasciitis, and a ganglion on one foot.

I have been a nurse for 18 years and tried a lot of shoes for work. Since Ihave tried Dansko I stopped and have been wearing them for past 5 years. I have two pair of the clogs with backs on and they feel great. Everything else botherers me
and they last a long time. I've been wearing these two pairs for last 5 years.:redpinkhe PS. I am not a plus size.

I am a plus size girl (size 20) and I wear Dansko clogs. It took a looooooong time to break them in though. When I first got them I wore them to work and thought I would die, they hurt so much. I posted about it on a different site, and people told me that they need to be broken in first, and then they'd be fine. So I wore them to knock around in for a few months. I wore them to work just the other day and they were great! I notice others have said that they hurt their wide feet. I noticed that they did sort of squeeze me across the widest part of my foot, so yeah, there's that. Being such a big girl, I usually have knee pain at the end of the day. When I wore the Dansko clogs I had no knee pain at all. I recommend them with the caveat that you have to break them in first.
I did not have to break them in. I just wore them to work and they were fine, I am not a plus size, I was wearing size small-medium scubs and still do even though I've gained some weight.

I LLLLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE my Dansko's!!! I wouldn't be caught at work without them! I wear the Pita style, which has a little velco strap on the side, so you can adjust the top of the shoe just right for your foot... the Professional was just to tight, and these are great! I can wear them for an entire 16 hour shift (if I am that lucky that I have to stay that long...) and my feet, legs, and back don't hurt at all!
Good luck to you in your Nursing school journey!

I agree that the professional style take a long time to break in and I highly recommend trying on the exact pair you're going to buy first. I tried on a pair in the wrong color and special ordered a pair of the same size in white and they didn't fit as well. Since they are hand made there is some variation from pair to pair. I'd go for one of the the mary jane styles if you can. As a plus sized girl myself I found the Danskos to be WAY better than anything else I've tried! Good luck!
Thanks for the link to the other style. I have only tried the professional. This other one looks alot more comfortable! Maybe I need to try them again?-though I do love my Quarks, but it would be nice to have the adjustable strap.
