This sucks so bad!

Ask for the incentives and bonus up front. And then say let me think about it while logging onto FB.

She definitely waited until I responded to her text to post her little BS message on FB. Less than 30 minutes after.

Next time I won't just take something without asking for something in return - 2 can play that game.

I halfway want to respond to her post with "Darn, I guess I should have held out for bonus instead of swapping shifts out of the goodness of my heart to make your life easier." But... that seems unlikely to be helpful LOL.

I could even word it in a professional way, but even then I think she would take it as backbiting and I really don't need to make an enemy out of her. I came in with 5 RN residents and only 2 of us are left. When is this hospital gonna get the hint?

LOL! Yea, don’t show your cards, they’ll need you again…

How long ago did your group start at the hospital?

I started working at Wrongway Regional Medical Center in March 2003. At the time, they had a GEMS (Going the Extra Mile) program and one of the rewards of doing so was based on no call offs in a years' time. The employee would be rewarded with either an extra day's pay or get a day off with pay if they had no call offs for a year.

I had my first call off in September 2004 and while discussing it with my supervisor, I questioned whether I was entitled to a day's pay. I had worked 19 months without a call off.

"Oh no", she replied, "that only applies to the calendar year, from January through December".

"The hell with that noise", I thought.

"whatever else falsely superlative. It's patronizing and insulting. And it means absolutely nothing"

Supervisor gives the same line to every nurse: "I'm worried about you. You seem unhappy!"

Can you say condescending?

I've already been asked to pick up a couple of shifts 4 months from now for vacation coverage.  Not happening yet, I've learned to hold out on saying yes until the bonus is offered, if somebody else picks them up in the meantime they are welcome to them

DD - worked a place with an even more generous reward program. Knew of several instances where multiple employees couldn't get their 'freebie' day scheduled. Nor could payroll seem to OK a due bonus.

Staff were always told 'we'll fix it next sched/check'. But it never seemed to materialize.

I'm snarky today. My work said they had exciting news! What is it? We have T-shirts! They passed around the sizing sheet and I wrote, "I don't want a t-shirt, I'd rather have a bonus." Hope I don't get fired. Oh wait, we have no staff. Lolololol!

We got T--Shirts a couple of months ago, mine is still sitting in the break room. Shocking nobody has taken it home,LOL. T-shirts are the new pizza. Plus it's free advertising, a win-win!  Good Lord, who decided that was a good idea?
