A thread for the airing of the grievances. Also known as "med room consultations."
My contribution: Few phrases will elicit a string of muttered profanity and an eye roll from me like "This patient is a VIP."
I'm offended by very little in life, but that phrase absolutely offends me on multiple levels.

I go ballistic when I hear management say "Do more with less." My feeling is that you're lucky if we can do the same with less, but how about less with less??

I don't ever hear "do more with less" but what makes me cringe is the "thank you for all you do, it's going to get better" which I've heard for a couple of years now. Meaning: you're screwed with staffing, and you will remain screwed but thank you for your service, here's a pizza.

So true. Years ago, long before the pandemic my hospital got an account with a local pizza place to deliver pizza to the night shift up to 1AM. It was mainly used for the ER when they couldn't get a lunch break. The pizza to thank us for all we do is long established. LOL

Yeah, once a long time ago we had a newish DON, who informed us at a mandatory staff meeting : "We are so thankful for all the hard work you do for us." (the company).
HUFF!
I stood up and said, "I know you don't know me, and this will probably sound rude, but *I* don't work for you. *I* work for my PATIENTS, not for this company! The company is just the middle-man."
