Hello! I wanted to make a new thread for Cypress Fall 2021 applicants! Have you gotten your letters yet?
I received a denial email, then a few minutes later got an email that said to disregard the previous email and read the acceptance letter for instructions. My application just says Complete, which in the past has meant I didn't get it. I'm so confused. Anyone else hear anything?
I just got accepted into Cypress a college, anything that I need to know before starting the program? what would be your recommendation to be successful on your first semester? I heard is a really hard program and about 10 students drop out the first semester is that true? Thanks in advanced!

Congratulations! Definitely start the readings when you get them. Purchase the books & online resources. We have CNSA which is student run foundation of nurses & if you purchase the yearly membership, you get assigned a mentor from semesters above you. You can always reach out to them for help if you’re struggling with something. Also sign up for skills lab, it’s pass/no pass class and you have to complete a certain amount of hours during the semester. At skills lab you get to do hands on practice with whatever you’re taught in lab. Def recommend getting study groups too. Easier to study when more minds are together. Goodluck!

my application also says complete. Do your instructions say to email your acceptance? Were you waitlisted prior?
How do you find out what number alternate? Is it the same as being waitlisted?

You can email them and see if they'll give you what number alternate you are. Alternate means you're off the waitlist to get in so if someone declines, you're in. If it's full, you'll automatically get in next semester if you reapplied in September. Attend the orientation still because alternate chances of getting in are high.

I love the program, the professors, and my classmates. I'll be attending the orientation on Friday so If you have questions you can private message me on the zoom meeting. I'm Janette. I'm finishing my 1st semester this week. I felt the same, it'll be a little overwhelming at first but it gets better once you have your flow.
Oh thats amazing to hear that! I was getting nervous because someone else told me that the Professors are kind of harsh with the students and approximate 10 students will get either kick out of the program or drop. So I was getting a little bit anxious. Glad to hear that you are enjoying the program and I am looking forward to see you on the zoom meeting! Thanks Janette

Just remember each student is different and how they take criticism and critiques. The professors all have different personalities, some stronger than others. We have lost 4 students since we started the program for all different reasons but none we've heard of being kicked out. We have the smallest cohort because of covid starting with 24 down to 20. Your cohort is a bit bigger than ours

Yes they do. Here’s the criteria from their brochure. This last cohort is a smaller class because the pandemic not sure how big the next upcoming cohort will be
