CVS N.Y. something strange ...

Published

Hi,

Something strange is going on with my CVS N.Y. . They still do not have transcripts from my nursing school. I wrote an email to the nursing school ti find out what was going on and they told me that they never got the forms. The CVS told me that they hat sent out twice.

Just in case - what will happen after 6 months without any transcripts??? Do I have to start all over again?

After six months, if no information from your school, CGFNS forwards on the information that they have to NY and then it is up to them to make the decision.

Did you verifiy the correct address for your school with CGFNS? Someitmes just a letter can be left off of the name and then the school will never receive it. I would do that first.

it will happen to me either. I have never got any mail from CGFNS. They said they sent them to me for 3 times. Anyway, my school have never got any mails from them . It's 2-3 weeks that they said they sent forms to my school and nursing council from Thailand. ( usually it take time only about 7-10days for regular mail)

I have never gotten ANY mail from cgfns . They told me that they have sent out letters to everybody but nobody replies. How can that be, that 3 schools and the license - guy have never gotten anything?? One mistake--o.k. but so often? There is something fishy going on.

Hi Suzanne,

I have talked to them and I have sent a letter. I will send another letter again. But now I think that nothing will ever happen and New York will not send me the ATT.

It will be up to NY to decide. They are the ones that make the final determination, not CGFNS. There are several different options.

There are major issues with mail arriving in Thailand. Sometimes I have waited over three months for a box that was shipped Air-Mail and my address was right in the center of town. And that goes for regular letters sent airmail as well. The only way that I ever sent anything to the US was by courier service if it really needed to be there. All documents from my school were sent via courier service also. Nothing ever was via the mail. The issue is usually on the Thai side, sorry to say. Same thing with anything important being sent to me from the US.

First, many of the mail people do not read English, and CGFNS doesn't send in Thai. Second point is that with all of the sois, all it takes is one number to be off and the letter goes miles away and then the person there doesn't read English.

You can request that CGFNS send any mail to you via e-mail. That way you are sure to get it.

Remember that it is not NY that actually sneds the ATT, that is done by Pearson-Vue after you pay for the exam. NY will only send a letter that you meet all requirements except for NCLEX.

This has happened to many people in the past, that is why there is the six month cut off date. NY normally handles things very professionally. So just sit tight a little longer. Or try just calling BY BON and see what they suggest. That would be your next step. They are the ones that will give you the final decision.

And remember, CGFNS has a bad reputation of not paying the courier bills incurred by the schools on the verification exerecise (this is included in the cost of ordering service thru CGFNS). This is one cause of delay, I was the one who paid for the courier so my school would submit the requirements needed. They said theat CGFNS owed them a lot of courier bills already. :angryfire

Hi Suzanne,

Thanks.

I really feel somehow helpless . My problem is that I am already in the US but with only one income from my husband it is very hard. So I feel the need to get everything done in the near future or I will have to move back to Germany. That would not be my first choice as we are integretad here and everything else is going well!

But somehow I am not surprised, things have never been smooth and easy for me, perhaps I am jinxt ( just kidding).

I also think you are right. I have CGFNS saying they have sent me mail which I have never received. When I check my account online CGFNS says it has sent me "ground mail" as well as e-mail and to my suprise I have never received any mail.Im beginning to think they just post that message so I can think they are doing something after all i paid for the service. I am in the UK and have never seen a ny letter.

You need to ask for all correspondance to be sent via e-mail. It can be done and is done. Even when you sent in your initial application to them, there is an area where you can check off how you wish to be contacted by them, you should put E-MAIL.---or both.......But do not rely on snail mail.
